This entire place just reeks of STRONG cigarette smoke (the room, the restaurant, the non-smoking sections, etc). I'm not a gambler at all but ended up staying here because it was the only hotel with a vacancy in the Tacoma area at the time. I'm not one to complain AT ALL but this place is ridiculous!!! This was my first time here and I was in town for a concert.
Just saying we've stayed in worse places and our room was just fine. We got a good AAA rate on Valentine's Day weekend.everyone else was booked or required a two night stay, so this hotel worked for us for our needs. Yes, the casino has low ceilings, smoky (non smoking area very busy), non generous payouts. We attended a concert at the Tacoma Dome.took an Uber to and from the concert. We had ozone machines offered to us, but they weren't in the room when we arrived. Now.Room 334 across the hall was a different smelled like pizza.all night long, was above the deli. Yes, this is an aged hotel that has been remodeled.above a casino. We were pleasantly surprised at our remodeled non smoking room, new carpet, wall mounted flat screen tv, nice toiletries and new fixtures in the bath, not to mention a great working steam iron.
Based on the reviews we expected a nasty room and stay. We stayed at the Emerald Queen Casino Hotel on Feb 13, 2016.
